(NYSE:PBI) announced today a new collaboration with PageTech, a leader in PCL (Printer Control Language) print stream conversion software, for the Volly™ secure digital delivery service. With this integration, a wider range of document providers, including small businesses, credit unions and print service providers, will have access to a digital platform. The alliance will enable PageTech clients to efficiently deliver their customer communications — statements, monthly bills, notices — electronically to consumers through Volly™ in an easily-viewed PDF format.

PageTech provides several software applications that support conversion of PCL output to vector-based PDF formats, which allows for easy and secure delivery of communications to Volly’s users. PageTech has extensive presence in the service bureau, credit union and regional bank industries.

PageTech, the leading consultancy firm specializing in HP PCL print stream transformation, optimization, text extraction and manipulation, announces the release of version 12.4 of the PageTech PCLTool Software Development Kit.

The new release includes a “print forwarding” feature in its popular Port Monitor which gives end-users the ability to easily forward captured print streams to any windows printer after they are stream-edited or transformed into formats like PDF, ASCII Text, and TIFF. Many new text extraction functions have been added to PCLXForm’s custom ASCII text script programing language to accommodate the new complexities found in the PCL print streams generated by the HP and Lexmark universal printer drivers.

This new industry-exclusive PCL printer driver embeds searchable text into PCL print streams before the printer driver generates them, saving all the text in its natural unscrambled state. Both the monochrome (PCL5e) and color (PCL5c) PCLMagic drivers call our custom programs to insert Unicode and UTF-8 text values into the print stream to circumvent the way in which Windows printer drivers "scramble" the text in PCL print streams.
